Heute Morgen trafen wir im Peres Center for Peace Moira und Avraham vom Parents Circle. Parents Circle besteht aus ca. 500 israelischen und palästinensischen Familien, die Angehörige im Konflikt verloren haben. Die berührenden Geschichten beider Seiten führten uns die emotionale Komplexität des Konflikts vor Augen. Nach diesem aufwühlenden Morgen trafen wir am Nachmittag Prof. Moshe Zuckermann an der Tel Aviv University. Prof. Zuckermann gab uns einen Einblick in die äusserst heterogene israelische Gesellschaft. Gerne hätten wir ihm noch länger zugehört, doch leider verschwand er dann so plötzlich wie er aufgetaucht war wieder im Tel Aviver Uni- Campus. Nach einem Reifenwechsel fuhren wir dann ins Hostel zurück und genossen einen freien Abend in der weissen Stadt, wie Tel Aviv auch genannt wird.
This morning we met Moira and Avraham of the Parents Circle in the Peres Center for Peace. Parents Circle is a group of around 500 Israeli and Palestinian families who have lost family members in the conflict. The touching accounts of both sides show us the emotional complexity of this conflict. After this thought provoking morning we met Professor Moshe Zuckermann at the University of Tel Aviv who gave us an insight into the multi-facetted Israeli society fraught with conflict. We would have liked to hear more from him but he vanished into the mist of campus.
After changing a tire of our car we went back to our hostel and enjoyed a night off in Tel Aviv.
